For people of all ages and preferences, Hushe, a roadside village in Baltistan, offers some of the best trekking and mountaineering options. At a few kilometres away from Hushe, in a region of spectacular mountains, is the Charakusa Valley Glacier. A three-day hike from the end of the road makes an economical Karakorum trip possible, and many of the peaks are under 6000 metres, so there is no permit charge and no liaison officer.
All of the ascent treks to these mountains begin in Hushe village and travel along some of the best hiking paths in Karakorum.
